Roy Cropper could snap and kill thug Corey for the attack on Nina

Viewers watched heartbroken on Friday night as Nina’s boyfriend Seb died from his injuries from the unprovoked attack.

Roy was forced to break the news to Nina in emotional scenes.

Now actor David has said it could push Roy over the edge and show how dangerous he could be.

“I think as Roy, the rational person that he is, living by this moral code, he would believe in rationality and the system to care of it,” he told The Celeb Report and other media.

Nina has been left broken by the attack on her and Seb

Corey led his gang of thugs in the brutal attack on Nina and Seb

“But if something happens, like all of us really, if something happens to me and mine, I think he’s capable of anything.

“I think he could be quite dangerous. I remember him attacking Gary Windass with a baseball or cricket bat!

“If something happens to Nina, he’s only human but that’s not the way forward for society or to deal with it.

“It’s almost like it feels to me that he’s got the brake on, it’s a handle for me and the character.”

Roy will be desperate to help his niece through her grief

And he called back to when Roy first appeared on the cobbles as Deirdre Barlow’s stalker – and an oddball.

“It has changed over the years yes, because he was this strange guy stalking Deirdre and a real loner and a real oddball,” he said.

“And one of the notes was that he just doesn’t get it, he stands too close, he just doesn’t get it.

“Nowadays he’s become this font of all wisdom, he’s turned into Rita, people keep coming into the cafe and I give them all this wisdom.”

On-screen Roy is going to struggle to watch Nina go through her grieving as she blames herself for what happened to Seb.

Next week she makes the heartbreaking decision to stop dressing as herself over it all, leaving Roy in despair for her.

David added: “He feels terrible that she’s going to become more like him – beige. And she’s conforming.

“I think the thing is with Roy he avoids the crowds and Nina is not part of the crowd and suddenly she wants to dress to be invisible, and to be part of the crowd and he can see that’s damaging to her individuality and personality but it is obviously a phase!”
