FIRM fan favourite Stu Carpenter has found happiness in the cobbles but there’s one thing still clouding his mind.
The Coronation Street chef is due to reunite with his daughter after years of estrangement – and even meet his granddaughter.
Former homeless man Stu Carpenter (portrayed by Bill Fellows) turned his life around mostly by helping the authorities get a hand on Corey Brent for Seb Franklin’s death.
After becoming an unexpected hero, he met Yasmeen Nazir and found a job in the Speed Daal kitchen, allowing him to remain in the cobbles.
But this came at a cost as the professional chef was pushed away from his family, and matters got worse for him when he lost his job amid the Covid pandemic.
Since then, Stu has sent gifts and cards for his daughter, Bridget, at the only address of hers he knows, only to find out she actually moved away with no prior warning.
This leads Stu to a self-destructive path which could cost him his position in Speed Daal, but his friend Kelly Neelan (Millie Gibson) is there to support him.
However, things will begin to look up again for Stu when he finally tracks down Bridget after not having any contact with her for fifteen years.
Stu shows up on her doorstep but is surprised when a young girl opens the door.
Much to his delight, Stu finds out he has a granddaughter as pictures of actor Bill Fellows on set have teased.
But Stu’s joy is short-lived when Bridget (Beth Vyse) turns up at the door and slams it in his face.
Later on, Stu tries to reconnect with Bridget again and the pair manage to speak to one another.
