SUE Cleaver has set the record straight on her weight loss after being forced to issue a warning to fans.
The 59-year-old shared a video on Instagram telling her followers exactly why she has lost weight recently.
Sue was forced to set the record straight about her weight loss
The actress insisted giving up drinking and doing I’m a Celeb helped her to lose weight
Sue has starred as Eileen in Coronation Street for more than two decades
Coronation Street star Sue revealed she was posting the clip after being falsely linked to diet products.
She said: “I’m really, really sad that I have to actually make this video.
“I’ve had quite a lot of messages over the last couple of weeks asking me about Keto gummies.
“There’s obviously some scam going around saying that I lost weight using Keto gummies… well it’s cr*p. It’s a scam. And if you’ve been taken in by it I’m so, so sorry. It’s outrageous.”
“I just want you to know that I would never, ever advocate anything like that.”
Opening up about how she did lose weight, Sue continued: “I lost some weight last year, I stopped drinking and I went in the [I’m a Celebrity] jungle.
“Yes, I have lost weight this year but not from any diet. I had some women’s health issues and I lost quite a lot of weight, too much weight – I look shocking at the minute and I’m actually trying to put on weight.”
Although Sue didn’t go into details about the health complications she’s been facing, she did reassure her followers.
She said: “I’m absolutely fine, all of those things have been dealt with. You get to a certain age as a woman and things happen.”
The Eileen Grimshaw actress also shared some advice with her fans.
“Life’s too short to be worrying about dieting and quick fixes,” she said: “Just be happy with yourself. You’re a beautiful human being as you are. It drives me insane and it’s a lesson to all of us – people sometimes lose weight for other reasons than actively trying to lose weight.”
Sue made a shock cameo as Eileen in Corrie last month after swapping Weatherfield for Thailand on Boxing Day 2022 to visit son Jason [Ryan Thomas].
She first started losing weight after being diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes in 2011. The diagnosis came after Sue, who has played Eileen since 2000, collapsed on the set of Corrie.
