The 45-year-old’s alter-ego has caused turmoil on the cobbles for Simon, Leanne and Nick and even roped his aunt Sharon in to do his dirty work for him.
He even got Nick’s son Sam involved, which showed the ruthless drug kingpin will do whatever it takes to get what he wants.
However, the former Hollyoaks star was left alarmed by people who have asked him to sell hardcore drugs to them after seeing his character on screen.
He told The Celeb Report on Sunday: “It was funny. I went to the local pub and someone said to me, ‘Have you got owt? Have you got owt, Harvey?’ and I was like, ‘What are you talking about?’.
“I’ve also had a few women who’ve said, ‘I hope you’re not selling drugs around here’. I’m like, ‘Stop saying that, people will overhear’.”
As a villain chances are you ruffle some feathers and the cobbles star recalled the abuse he has suffered as a result of his character’s actions.
He recalled: “People shout at me in the street, ‘Leave Simon alone, he’s only small’. I’m like, ‘It’s not real!’. But it’s all good.”
Discussing his casting news at the time, he remarked: “I’m honoured to be asked to come into Coronation Street, it’s such an iconic show and has been a huge part of my family life.”
Harvey’s trial kicks off next week and a sheepish Leanne enters the witness box.
Sharon is then called as a witness and gives a damning report of Harvey’s evil nature in a shock twist.
