Corrie legend Sally Lindsay reveals secret message to husband she snuck into new drama Madame Blanc

SALLY Lindsay has paid homage to her husband’s surname as she looks set to make a triumphant return to Channel 5 in new drama, The Reluctant Madame Blanc Mysteries.

The new six-part series follows Jean White, a renowned and respected antiques dealer, running a successful business in leafy Cheshire with her husband, Rory.

Sally is married to Steve White

Sally will star in the eagerly anticipated show and also served as the lead writer, with the 48-year-old admitting that the name Madame Blanc is, essentially, her real name – but in French.

The Coronation Street legend married drummer Steve White eight years ago and lives in between Manchester and London with him and their three children.

However, in an exclusive interview with The Celeb Report’s TV Mag, Sally revealed that she doesn’t use her married name professionally – and even admitted the reason as to why.

She said: “It’s no coincidence that I’m Mrs White in real life. Madame Blanc was always going to be Mrs White.

“It’s a constant laugh between us because I never change my name because I think it’s ridiculous.

“I’m Sally Lindsay, I got married at 40. Can you imagine me saying ‘I’m Sally White’? They’d go ‘Who?’ Twenty five years of work, why would I do that?

“I’m only called Mrs White at the school, in no other aspects of my life have I changed my name, so I thought it was quite nice for Steve for once I’d be called Mrs White.”

The Madame Blanc Mysteries airs on Channel 5 on Saturday, October 16 at 9pm.
