CORONATION Street star Brooke Vincent has been told by bosses that they won’t kill off her character – despite her not appearing on the soap for more than 18 months.
The Sophie Webster actress – who gave birth to her second child last month – is now raking in more cash from ad deals with firms like Asda than the £150,000-a-year she earned from the soap.
And she’s free to plug products as she’s not currently contracted to Corrie – unlike her co-stars who are bound by strict ITV rules.
She also has her own lifestyle brand called Oh So B that sells a range of diaries and planners.
Brooke, 29, left the show in August 2019 to have her son Mexx with Sheffield United star Kean Bryan.
She was last seen on screen in October of that year.
And after then falling pregnant with second child Monroe – born in May – she is yet to return to the Corrie studios.
She said in a Q&A this week: “I love Corrie and it will always be my home, but it’s a very demanding job and quite restrictive as you have to be based near Manchester.
“I’ve been doing it since age 11 and that’s been my priority, but now I have the boys they’re my priority.
“Maybe when they get to a certain age – if they’ll have me back that is – I’ll be saying, ‘Please give me my job back!’”
Viewers last saw Sophie leaving the cobbles to go travelling in Cambodia.
“Brooke has been told there are no plans to kill off the character so she’s free to return any time she wants,” an ITV source told us.
“Brooke has appeared in almost 1,300 episodes and plays one of the most popular characters of the modern era and is very well-liked and respected as an individual.
“The bosses would have her back in a heart-beat but it doesn’t look like that’s going to happen for several years at least.”
