Countryfile viewers left ‘too sick to eat their tea’ after stomach-churning scenes in latest episode

VIEWERS felt their stomachs churn during last night’s instalment of Countryfile.

Fans of the BBC One show felt sick when host Adam Henson introduced them to a farmer whose business involved cow manure.

Adam made viewers feel sick to their stomachs last night

During last night’s episode of the show dedicated to the British countryside, presenter Adam set off for a trip to Pewsey in Wiltshire.

Upon arrival, he met a farmer named Neil Ridgway who has managed to successfully find his own renewable resource and this involves a little help from his cows.

Adam was stunned by how Neil had turned his cow dung into a source of functioning electricity.

“Energy bills on farms are astronomical, and here on our farm, our annual electricity bill is around £10,000”, Neil explained.

He added: “So, what we have done in 2017, we put these solar panels on our sheep-shed roof, and since they have been on there, we reckon they’ve saved around 60 per cent of our electricity bill.

“When I found out that cowpats could be turned into electricity and made further savings, I just had to find out more.”

The segment ran with several shots of cows doing their business.

But while the Countryfile presenter was surprised, BBC One couldn’t have picked a worst time to broadcast the shots.

Viewers showed no hint of delight on social media, as they were more disgusted than amazed.

Most swarmed over to Twitter to vent and share their frustration, blaming the programme for putting them off of their dinners.

One commented: “On Countryfile they are discussing cow poo making electricity, but did we have to see close-ups!”

“For goodness sake, Countryfile – people are trying to eat!”, penned another furious fan.

A third chipped in: “Thank you Countryfile, just what I wanted to see while I’m eating my tea.”

Another had a similar thought: “Really, am still eating my tea! #Countryfile.”

A fifth fan complained: “I know they are showing something positive, and it’s great, but they really didn’t need so many clips… I feel sick!”, while another added: “”Ewwww steamy cow poo!”

Countryfile airs weekly on Sundays at 6pm on BBC One.
