COUNTRYFILE’s Matt Baker has spoken out about his future on the show as he reveals he will be hosting a brand new BBC series.
The British presenter first joined the Countryfile team in 2009.
With a slew of TV projects keeping Matt busy, the question of his future on Countryfile has popped up

Since then Matt, 45 has hosted for the Summer Diaries on BBC One on weekday mornings before co-presenting the evening show.
But now, he has revealed that he will be starring in a new TV project that is quite different from his role on Countryfile.
Matt Baker’s Travels in the Country: USA will see him visit rural farms in the United States.
In addition, he has had a slew of additional TV shows in recent years.
So it’s not surprising that the topic of his future on Countryfile came up.
But in an interview with The Mirror, he clarified that he is not leaving, though he did hint at a significantly diminished role.
Despite his busy schedule Matt has reassured fans that he will still be “popping up on” Countryfile.
Matt said: “I’ve got my new series starting this Saturday. I’m also doing some more travel shows with mum and dad – they love it. And you’ll still see me popping up on Countryfile.”
Matt also hosted the first series of Secret Britain with Julia Bradbury and One Man And His Dog with Kate Humble.
He then joined The One Show as a guest presenter from May to August 2010 standing in for Jason Manford. He took over as a permanent co-host with Alex Jones.
The former Blue Peter presenter also regularly commentates on gymnastics events for the BBC.
