The presenter previously said he thought he was going to die after the vehicle ploughed into him on a busy roundabout on Monday.
Dan Walker revealed he can’t do much with his left hand since the accident
He was thrown off his bike when a car cut him off on a roundabout
The 45-year-old took to Instagram to share gratitude with his followers for sending some hearty ready-made meals from Farmison&Co.
He wrote: “I was just thinking about tea but can’t do much with my left hand at the minute so these babies have arrived at just the right time.”
The terrifying smash occurred on the morning of February 20, and rear-view dashcam footage captured it all.
It showed Dan, who was cycling to catch a train at 8.30am as he headed to work at 5 News, on his electric bike.
The Strictly star could be seen entering the roundabout in Sheffield – following the road when the car appeared to cut him off to try to take the nearest exit.
In a split second, he was hit, thrown off and flew into the path of the car while his bike was crushed.
He revealed the exact moment he “came round” on the tarmac after being knocked out by the collision.
Walker said: “Just got home from hospital. Battered and bruised but – amazingly – nothing broken.
“Very thankful to still be here. I have no memory of anything and just remember coming round on the tarmac with paramedics and police around me.”
He added: “The helmet I was wearing saved my life today so – if you’re on a bike – get one on your head.
“Smashed my watch & phone, ruined my trousers, my bike is a mess but I’m still here.
“Currently eating soup through a straw and being looked after by this gorgeous, tired nurse.”
The dad-of-three escaped seemingly without major injuries and doesn’t believe he came away with any broken bones.
Police and ambulance crews were called to the scene and the presenter posed with NHS staff in good sprits.
Walker has since been showered with gifts from concerned fans since he came home from hospital.
The presents include flowers, ice cream, brownies and meat sauces.
He thanked his fans in an Instagram story, adding: “People are so kind.”
