DANCING On Ice fans have slammed one of the show’s judges for “rude” remarks made to the studio audience.
Last night head judge Christopher Dean found himself in the firing line.
Dancing On Ice fans thought Christopher Dean was rude on last night’s show
It came when the judge was giving Corrie star Mollie Gallagher feedback
It all started when Jayne Torvill got booed for saying she wasn’t that impressed with Corrie star Mollie Gallagher’s performance.
So when it came to his turn to give his verdict on the performance, Christopher mocked the audience for booing, by saying: “A lot of experts in the audience tonight!”
This comment didn’t go down well with viewers at home, with one fan tweeting: “Why does Dean always refer to the audience as “experts”? Obviously they are encouraged to take part in the show, so why be the big man?
“What exactly does he want them to do, just sit there silent for the complete show? Better having Dean and Co and an empty studio.”
While another vented: “#dancingonice Christopher dean needs to stop being so rude to the audience!.”
This viewer chimed in: “What is with Torvill & Dean attacking audience. They are untitled to an opinion & if they don’t like it they shouldn’t be judges #dancingonice.”
This fan was not impressed either: “Why does Christopher Dean always comment on the #DancingOnIce audience having an opinion? They have a right to boo and applaud, what gives him the right to dictate to the audience what to do.”
Meanwhile last night Darren Harriott became the latest star to be eliminated from the show.
He was voted off after he landed in the skate-off against The Wanted’s Siva Kaneswaran after failing to score the public vote in Movie Week.
When it came to the judges to decide who should stay, the judges unanimously voted to save Siva, sending Darren and his pro-partner Tippy Packard home.
However, Darren and Siva were praised by the judges for coming in as complete non-skaters, which they admitted made it harder to make a decision.
“You both came in as non skaters and you’ve both worked so hard,” Oti Mabuse said. “You should be really proud of yourself, but I’m going to go for the stronger one and that for me is Siva and Klabera [Komini].”
This was echoed by the rest of the judges.
But Darren bared no ill-will towards the exit, instead praising the cast, crew and judges for taking part.
“I lasted a lot longer than I expected,” Darren admitted. “I thought I’d be out before the show started!
“Honestly, thank you to everyone, it’s been a dream. I know everyone’s said this before, everyone’s been so nice.”
He then took a moment to celebrate partner Tippy, saying: “This woman! I’ve never met anybody like Tippy. Her enthusiasm, any lift I suggest she’s like ‘let’s do it!'”
Tippy added she was “so proud” of how well he’d done.
