DANCING On Ice star Graham Bell’s partner Yebin Mok “lost a chunk of her leg” in the freak accident that’s forced her to miss the first show.
American skater Yebin, 36, was badly injured when her Graham’s skate stabbed her in the shin.
The injury left her tendons exposed as the blade tore through her muscle.
Judge Jayne Torvill said: “It was particularly nasty one.
“We’ve all had a kick on the shin, but this was a bit more than that – a lot more.
“I believe she had to stay overnight in hospital so it wasn’t like just getting a few stitches.
“Once in a while you do get these freaky accidents that just happen and it’s nobody’s fault.
“I just hope she makes a full recovery soon.”
Her Olympic skate partner Christopher Dean revealed Yebin’s injury was more serious than first thought.
“Ice is so unforgiving,” he said.
“We all look and see how fun it is, but you’re a minuscule away from a disaster all the time.
“That’s the thing about this show, it is live and dangerous.
“Graham caught a toe-pick, went down and Yebin was by his side, and just by the freakiness of his fall, she landed on the heel of his blade. It’s taken a huge chunk out of her leg.”
Jayne added: “I would imagine this is so deep that it is has to heel or else it will start bleeding again if she puts weight on it.”
