Brendan Cole attempted a tricky lift with his Dancing On Ice partner Vanessa Bauer

The pair have been rehearsing daily but today took a turn for the worst during a routine that required him to lift Vanessa.

Taking to Instagram, Brendan showed the moment it happened.

The twosome were trying to do a lift which required him to lift her from the floor.

But he couldn’t do it and he fell backwards.

But the lift was too much for Brendan and he collapsed on the floor

The pair took it in good humour and could be seen laughing afterwards.

Brendan and series 10 winner Vanessa were the first Dancing On Ice 2022 pairing to be revealed.

Announcing her celeb on Instagram, Vanessa said: “We’re both incredibly excited about this new partnership and can’t wait to go above and beyond to hopefully deliver some magic on the ice of you!

“Let’s do this partner!!!”

The pressure is on Brendan to perform given each of Vanessa’s previous four partners have been impressive on the ice.

She finished runner-up with Perri Kiely and Wes Nelson, respectively, while she went one better and won with Jake Quickenden in 2018.

This year wasn’t as successful though as her time with Emmerdale’s Joe Warren-Plant was cut short after they tested positive for coronavirus.

Former Strictly man, James Jordan, has also set the bar high for Brendan by winning when he competed in 2019.

Meanwhile the competitive Kiwi has already become embroiled in a beef with fellow celeb Ben Foden.

He allegedly snubbed the group WhatsApp group after Ben asked the celebs to share their numbers.
