Danni Menzies reveals she’s still suffering from vertigo six months after horror moped smash

DANNI Menzies has revealed she’s still suffering bouts of vertigo six months after she was hit by a stolen moped in a horrific accident.

The former A Place In The Celeb Report star, 35, said she could have died in the serious smash on a London street that left her with facial injuries and concussion.

And the impacts of the incident have been long-lasting with Danni still occasionally feeling like the world around her is spinning.

Speaking to The Celeb Report from The Ideal Home Show, Danni opened up about her lengthy recovery and how the ordeal has inspired her to make the most of her life.

She said: “I could’ve died. It was really scary. I had to get scans for bleeding on the brain, my face was really messed up. I was depressed for a few months. My life went on hold for a bit. That was really tough. It took a while.

“I did a bit of therapy. I’ve been doing energy healing, doing sound baths, doing all that stuff. It’s been a journey, but now, I’m like ‘let’s have it’. I’m raring to go and really excited about the rest of the year. I feel like it’s really given me a bit of a shove actually. Sometimes you’ve got to go down before you go up. Definitely made me want to push it and really go for it.”

Danni was inundated with support and well-wishes after telling fans of her injuries last October.

But the immediate aftermath was all a blur while she was in the grips of a nasty concussion.

She explained: “I had concussion for about two or three weeks so I don’t really remember. I was like ‘where did all of these flowers come from?’. Concussion was really bad. I’ve still got vertigo a little bit sometimes.

“Lots of people reached out. I got flowers from so many people. I’ve never had so many flowers in my flat. It was like walking into a florist. It was really sweet.”

At the time of her accident, Danni was in the shape of her life having trained for tough reality show The Challenge, which she finished filming the week before she was struck.

Being unable to train for months affected her mental health, but she is now back in the gym and working hard once again.

“It’s taken me until the last month to get back into a good routine,” she said. “I weight train twice a week usually with my trainer Alex. I run one to twice a week and then I do bits and other bobs when I feel like it, like yoga or F45.

“For me exercise is therapy, it really makes a difference to my mental health. I think that’s why now I’m in a super good place like ‘right, I’ve had that time off. It was super hard. Now I want to be the best version of myself and smash everything and be ready for anything’.”

The Ideal Home Show, in partnership with Sky Glass, is the world’s longest-running home and interiors exhibition and is returning to Olympia London from Friday 17th March until Sunday 2nd April.
