DANNY DYER has revealed his EastEnders character might be killed off when he leaves the BBC1 soap later this year – but he’s not leaving Albert Square without swiping a Queen Vic bar stool.
The 44-year-old, who plays resident pub landlord Mick Carter, will have his on-screen exit this winter after nine years in the show.
He said: “There’s been a discussion about what we’re gonna do. I might be killed off, I might not.
“I just want to go out in a huge, epic way. I don’t want to be in the back of a cab.
“I don’t want a heart attack because of high cholesterol. I want to go out and I want to get people talking about it. So, yeah, it’s gonna be huge.
“I might nick a stool out of the Vic. I have already got a stool up in my dressing room.

“I’ll get the cast to sign it and I’ll take it. It’s such an iconic job and I’ve loved every second of it. It’s been amazing. It’s been nearly ten years though, you know?
“It’s time to move on now. I’ll be very sad. I will be. It’s an emotional thing, you become very attached. But it’s time to roll the dice.
“Maybe it’ll come out at Christmas. When they get it right there ain’t no better show on the television.”
At the second season launch of Sky’s The Flight Attendant, in London’s Selfridges store on Tuesday, Danny revealed he was grateful for the storylines he has been given.
On his on-screen son Johnny, played by Sam Strike, coming out as gay on the soap in 2014, he added: “I was blessed with a great role.
“Mick Carter was different, he was an alpha male who wore a pink dressing gown.
“His son came out to him as gay, and he said, ‘It’s alright boy, I’ll give you a cuddle’.

“I think he changed a lot of young gay men’s lives who came out the next day.”
Danny has since signed up to host Netflix gameshow Cheat, a travel series with his ex-Love Islander daughter Dani, 25, and a gritty Channel 5 drama.
