Positive Progress
Davina McCall has shared a health update after being in ICU following brain surgery for a 'very rare' tumour. The presenter was diagnosed with a benign, rare tumour by chance a few months ago and has now undergone brain surgery.
Recovery Update
Posting on Instagram, her boyfriend Michael shared that Davina is making "mega progress" and has seen a "massive relief" in the last 24 hours. She is now out of ICU and on the path to recovery. The star had a rare colloid cyst, with a 'three in a million' chance of having one.
Rise in Diagnosis
Experts mention that more people are being diagnosed with Davina's extremely rare brain tumour type due to advances in testing. Brain Tumour Research reveals that the number of people found with a colloid cyst each year is rising, thanks to MRI and CT scans.
Continuing Podcast
Despite being in recovery, Davina McCall will continue with her weekly podcast, Begin Again. The TV host was determined to not let the tumour halt the progress of her show and pre-recorded a series of interviews before the surgery.
Upcoming Projects
Davina is set to appear on The Masked Singer with a Christmas special and a full series. The episodes were pre-recorded in September, showcasing Davina's determination and resilience in the face of her health challenges.
