DEATH in Paradise fans have predicted an unlikely new romance for Detective Neville Parker after an easy-to-miss clue.
Ralf Little plays the policeman in the hit BBC crime drama, which returned for its 10th series earlier this month.
He has been joined this season by Josephine Jobert, who returned as Florence Cassell after being absent from the show when Ralf first joined.
The two characters have slowly been getting to know one another over the first two episodes, and fans are started to think a spark is developing between them.
They’ve already shared a dinner together at Florence’s home and opened up about their personal lives, and at the end of last week’s episode, they were seen sharing a sweet moment on the beach.
Neville had his metal detector and Florence accompanied him, dressed in a pretty yellow playsuit.
As if that wasn’t enough to get viewers talking about their chemistry, a trailer for this week’s episode has them utterly convinced romance is afoot.
Taking to Twitter, one fan wrote: “Florence looks like she’s on a date?”
Another added: “The Neville & Florence romance storyline starts next week I’m guessing?”
A third tweeted: “Is there going to be a romance brewing between Florence and Neville I hope so.”
Meanwhile a fourth shared: “Oh, Florence and Neville are having fun together. Oh no, they are making me ship it.”
When it was announced that Josephine would be returning, the BBC teased a potential romance between the two detectives.
A synopsis for season 10 reads: “Florence thinks she’s ready to get back to work after her fiancé’s death two years ago – but she hasn’t banked on her new boss, Neville.
“As she tries to understand his peculiarities, sparks are bound to fly. Neville soon realises he is existing in the Caribbean, rather than embracing life there.
“With Florence’s help, he determines to seize the day and finds himself starting to reveal some of his secrets – including of a romantic nature.”
Death in Paradise continues on Thursday, January 21 at 9pm on BBC One.
