Death in Paradise’s Danny John-Jules shares epic throwback pic to celebrate return for Christmas Special

DEATH in Paradise’s Danny John-Jules has shared an epic throwback picture to celebrate his return for the Christmas Special.

Last week, it was confirmed the 60-year-old actor will reprise his role as charismatic Officer Dwayne Myers for the show’s first ever festive edition.

He also posted a throwback picture of when co-star Tahj Miles was little

Danny played Dwayne from the first ever episode until the end of series seven, when Dwayne left Saint Marie to go travelling with his formerly estranged father.

Over the weekend, the actor took to Twitter to post a snap on set with his Death in Paradise co-stars Don Warrington – who plays Commissioner Selwyn Patterson – and Tahj Miles, who plays Marlon Pryce.

The black and white picture saw the three men posing in their Saint Marie police uniforms, and Danny posted it alongside a throwback snap of the trio.

The second picture saw Danny and Don posing alongside Tahj when he was a child.

Danny captioned it: “Some things in life are written in the stars. They call it #destiny. Only a fool would fight it. @TahjDMiles @Don_warrington #BBC #RedPlanet #DeathInParadiseChristmasSpecial.”

Concluding the tenth-anniversary celebrations, the festive 90-minute special stretches from a grey damp drizzly London all the way to the warm sparkling beauty of idyllic Saint Marie.

Danny previously said of his return: “It’s always a pleasure going back to the Caribbean. And after four years away, fitting  back into the fold should be seamless as I know all the new leading cast members already.

“I look forward to  bringing Dwayne and this tenth anniversary special script to life.”

Danny will join current cast members including Ralf Little, who plays DI Neville Parker, and Josephine Jobert, who plays Florence Cassell.

As Florence leaves the island to spend Christmas with her family, the team welcome Dwayne with open arms to help solve a murder case.

Dwayne comes to realise he’s not only met Officer Marlon Pryce before, but he once arrested him. How will the team of old and new faces come together to unravel this murderous crime?
