Newcomer Joel Deering pursues Dee-Dee in upcoming episodes
Since arriving in Weatherfield, Dee-Dee Bailey has been focused on her career. But that's all about to change, as a new love interest enters her life in Coronation Street.
Joel Deering, played by Hollyoaks star Callum Lill, will make his debut on the popular soap next week. He's set to strike up a romance with Dee-Dee, who is portrayed by Channique Sterling-Brown.
The history of Dee-Dee's love life
In recent months, Dee-Dee was linked to criminal Damon Hay, but he instead had an affair with Sarah Platt. This led to Dee-Dee discovering that she was pregnant and being the first to expose Sarah's secret. It almost cost Dee-Dee her job in Weatherfield when her boss, Adam Barlow, found out she had known about the affair and not told him.
A new romantic possibility
Next week, Joel invites Dee-Dee out for a drink, claiming he wants to discuss US law. Dee-Dee is thrilled, thinking it's a chance to show off her knowledge. But Joel is disappointed to realize she doesn't see it as a date. He then suggests they have dinner instead, but Dee-Dee says she's busy for the next few nights. Joel leaves disappointed, and Dee-Dee wonders if she made a mistake.
Adam Barlow gets involved
Enter Adam Barlow, who finds out that Dee-Dee turned down the date with Joel to spend time with him. Adam decides to play matchmaker and comes up with a plan to get them together. Will his efforts be successful?
