DISTRACTED University Challenge viewers have all said the same thing about a contestant’s outfit.
Monday’s quarter-final saw King’s College London go up against the University of Birmingham.
The King’s team was lead by captain Atyab Rashid, who instantly distracted viewers with his choice of attire.
The student had opted for a white cricket jumper with a pale blue shirt underneath which matched the stripe in the knitted garment.
Taking to Twitter, one viewer wrote: “[If] Rashid was playing cricket before he could have changed. #UniversityChallenge”.
Another added: “Rashid clearly thought he was off to Lords and not going on #universitychallenge.”
A fellow viewer tweeted: “Silky-voiced Rashid rocking the ‘just come off the cricket pitch’ look #universitychallenge.”
Meanwhile another viewer was smitten, writing: “Rashid in cricket whites… I’m in love! #UniversityChallenge”.
The quarter-finals was a closely fought contest, with Birmingham taking an early lead before King’s drew level with 115 points each.
However, the London team managed to edge ahead in the final round and won with a score of 140, meaning viewers will get another chance to see Atyab and his wardrobe choices.
Host Jeremy Paxman said: “King’s College have a score of 140, whereas Birmingham I am very sadly going to have to say goodbye to you as we’ve had you twice.
“King’s, you’ve got to win next time if you’re going to stay in this contest.”
University Challenge airs on Mondays at 8.30pm on BBC Two and is also available on BBC iPlayer.
