Doctor Who: Revolution of the Daleks cast: Who stars in the Christmas special?

DOCTOR Who fans can’t wait to watch the Doctor and her companions battle it out against a Dalek invasion in this year’s festive special.

To make things more exciting, the cast features some shock returns from old characters – including John Barrowman and Chris Noth.

Who stars in the Doctor Who Christmas special?

The Christmas special cast is an exciting mix of regular cast members, returning characters and some brand-new faces.

The Christmas special will follow the Doctor and her companions in their battle to save the world from Dalek invasion.

Jodie Whittaker as The Doctor 



Jodie will be back as The Doctor for the Christmas special

Jodie will be back as The Doctor for the Christmas special, after taking over the lead role from Peter Capaldi in 2017.

The 37-year-old actress first shot to stardom in the season one finale of Black Mirror titled The Entire History of You in 2011 and as grieving mother Beth Latimer in Broadchurch.

Tosin Cole as Ryan Sinclair



Tosin Cole will return as one of the Doc’s sidekicks

The 27-year-old actor will return as one of the Doc’s sidekicks playing Ryan – a 19-year-old warehouse worker who is training to be a mechanic.

You may recognise Tosin from Hollyoaks, The Cut and EastEnders spin-off E20 in which he played Sol Levi.

Mandip Gill as Yaz Khan



Mandip will return as Yaz

Mandip will return as bisexual Yaz who is a bored police officer who’s looking for something more exciting.

You’ll know Mandip as Phoebe McQueen in Hollyoaks and she’s also appeared in Doctors, The Good Karma Hospital and Casualty.

Bradley Walsh as Graham O’Brian 



 Bradley Walsh will play the Doctor’s travelling campion Graham

Gameshow host and actor Bradley will play the Doctor’s travelling campion Graham, a retired bus driver in remission from cancer.

Soap star Bradley is best known as Danny Baldwin in Coronation Street and hosting popular  ITV gameshow The Chase.

John Barrowman as Captain Jack Harkness



John Barrowman is set to return as Captain Jack Harkness

John Barrowman is set to return as Captain Jack Harkness to help out the Doctor and her companions in their battle to save the world from Dalek invasion.

John originally played the swash-buckling, omnisexual character as a recurring guest in Doctor Who from 2005-2010, before being given his own show, Torchwood.

John made his name in the West End, landing roles in musicals including Miss Saigon and The Phantom of The Opera, before going on to star in CW’s DC Comics series Arrow as supervillain Malcolm Merlyn.

Chris Noth as Jack Robertson



Chris Noth is reprising his role as luxury hotel owner Jack Robertson

Another returning face is Chris Noth – who featured in series 11 as luxury hotel owner Jack Robertson in the episode Arachnids in the UK.

He first shot to fame playing Detective Mike Logan on Law & Order from 1990-95. But he is best known around the world for playing Carrie Bradshaw’s on/off boyfriend, and then husband, Mr Big on Sex and the City.

Dame Harriet Walter as the Prime Minister



Harriet Walter will make her first Doctor Who appearance

Alongside these familiar characters, Harriet Walter will make her first Doctor Who appearance.

Walter, who is known for her role as Natalie Chandler in  Law & Order: UK and Churchill’s wife in The Crown, will be playing the Prime Minister.

Nathan Stewart-Jarrett



Nathan Stewart-Jarrett is known for his role in Misfits

Nathan Stewart-Jarrett is known for his roles in Misfits and The Trial of Christine Keeler.

He also starred in the 2013 conspiracy thriller Utopia.

It isn’t known who Nathan will be playing in the Doctor Who Christmas special yet – but we can’t wait to find out!

When is the Doctor Who Christmas special Revolution of the Daleks on?

The Beeb has confirmed that the much-anticipated Doctor Who special will air on New Year’s Day, 2021.

The exact time it will be broadcast has not yet been revealed.
