Don’t Tell The Bride’s ‘worst ever’ Vegas wedding couple reveal they split after just 9 months – when HE dumped HER

DON’T Tell The Bride has checked back in with its most infamous couple after their disastrous Las Vegas wedding 12 years ago.

Unsurprisingly, Groom Simon and bride Kayleigh are no longer together, in fact they split just nine months after their disastrous nuptials.

Reflecting on the wedding all these years later, Simon called himself a “turnip” while Kayleigh declined to be on the show.

He and best man Anthony left Kayleigh in floods of tears at the time as they blew the wedding budget partying and gambling in Sin City.

Homebird Kayleigh was blissfully unaware Simon was living it up in the US, squandering so much cash it meant their guest list had to be reduced to six and key family members were uninvited.

Stressed Simon came undone trying to find the perfect wedding dress. He said shopping for picky Kayleigh’s dress was the worst part of the whole planning experience.

Having initially chosen something that would have been perfect, he ended up swapping it for a princess-style frock in ivory.

The lads then booked the chapel inside the Venetian Hotel, with Simon reflecting: “I just wanted to get the best of both worlds, the country wedding she wanted but in Vegas.”

When Kayleigh’s dress was revealed to her back home for the first time, she teared up during the fitting, and not in a good way.

She said: “What the hell’s he thinking? It’s just a joke.”

Kayleigh’s mum then had to fund a replacement to keep her daughter happy, unaware that skint Simon had lost £500 gambling the night before.

There were more tears when Kayleigh was told to go to the airport to pick up her Vegas tickets

Shell-shocked that her whole family wouldn’t be going, she sobbed: “Why would the man I love do this?”

She accused Simon of ripping her family apart and breaking her heart in a tense phone call.

But she did eventually fly out, much to Simon’s surprise. However, she refused to give him a kiss or a cuddle and they shared a horrendously awkward car journey to the hotel.

Simon said he hated himself at the time upon realising he’d lost Kayleigh’s family’s respect.

But after a good night’s sleep, Kayleigh had a change of heart and decided to go through with the wedding.

Their smiles were short-lived though, as shortly after returning home Simon got a job abroad.

Kayleigh’s desire to stay in the UK prompted him to end the marriage after just nine months and their divorce was finalised in 2020.
