WHILE her sister focuses on finding their mother, Gina Knight struggles with her own demons.
Next week in EastEnders, the character played by Francesca Henry is thrown into another downward spiral. How will she come out of it?
Gina Knight struggles with her demons next week
Her sister Anna is focusing on finding their mother
But Gina spirals out of control
Gina Knight made it clear she had no interest in meeting her mother Rose after she walked out on their family nine years ago and vanished into thin air.
BBC One viewers already saw Gina struggle with her addictions when she was told the truth about Rose and it was enough for her to sweep the issue under the rug.
Her sister Anna on the other hand decided she’d be moving heaven and earth to find Rose Knight (aka Cindy Beale) and became determined to hire a private investigator to help her.
Unfortunately, due to her chequered past with drugs, a disgruntled Gina is questioned by Linda (Kellie Bright) who reveals that there is £200 missing from The Vic takings next week.
Driven by her suspicions, Gina later discovers that Anna stole the cash to hire a private investigator to track down their mum.
A horrified Gina goes to reveal all to George (Colin Salmon), but she falters before Anna lies that she left the cash on the side whilst cashing up the night before and someone must have taken it.
Once alone, Gina gives Anna an ultimatum that it’s her or her mum.
While Anna mulls things over, Gina is struggling with her sister’s recent revelations and heads to The Albert where she finds widower Jay Brown (Jamie Borthwick).
Gina rapidly drinks and implores Jay to look after Lexi in the wake of Lola’s death, echoing her own experience growing up without a mum.
As the drinks continue to flow, Jay gets the wrong end of the stick when Gina places her hand on his leg, and makes a hasty exit.
Later, Gina heads to buy drugs from the dealer she met in Peggy’s a few weeks back – will she really go through with it?
Tensions continue to rise between Anna and Gina, leading to George making Anna reveal why she took the £200 from The Vic and all hell breaks loose.
Elaine Peacock (Harriet Thorpe) is hellbent on bringing the family together in later scenes of the London-based program.
The Vic landlady hatches a plan to get Gina and Anna to step up for their dad by offering £50 to the winner who gives out the most promotional flyers in an attempt to steal customers from The Albert for the Women’s World Cup.
Whilst dropping off leaflets at the car lot, Gina and Jay have a heart-to-heart as she gives advice on parenting Lexi by sharing her own experience.
The pair put their awkward encounter from the night before behind them, but Gina is later rattled when Anna brings up their mother again.
How will Gina react?
Will she relapse?
Later on, Anna accosts Gina and agrees to stop her search into their mother Rose if Gina will agree to give up the drugs for good.
Will she accept?
EastEnders airs from Monday to Thursday at 7.30pm on BBC One.
Anna’s plans are rumbled
