EAGLE-EYED fans spot link between EastEnders and the axed BBC drama series, Holby City.
EastEnders viewers have spotted a huge reminder of the now cancelled show, and couldn’t help pointing it out.
Viewers were distracted by a notice board
EastEnders’ nod to axed Holby City
Last week’s EastEnders were filmed on what looked like the old set of medical show Holby City.
Whilst Phil was in hospital, viewers spotted a notice board behind him which read Holby City.
Other scenes saw Ben Mitchell and Kheerat Panesar head to the sexual health clinic, in order to collect Ben’s HIV test results.
As the pair walked down the clinic’s corridors, it didn’t take long for fans to pick up on the familiar setting.
They took to Twitter to discuss the recognisable set.
One wrote: “Random question… The Walford Sexual Health clinic looks remarkably like the old Holby set or is it me?”
A knowledgable fan replied: “they actually are using the Holby set”.
Whilst another asked: ‘RIGHT, WHYY?? GET HOLBY BACK ON THAT SET.”
A few viewers enjoyed the nod to the old Holby City set.
One wrote: “Holby lives on in the form of Walford General”.
Those who picked up on the use of the old set were right, as both shows are BBC-owned, and the sets are both on the same huge lot.
Both EastEnders and Holby City are set up at Elstree Studios, one of the biggest in the UK.
This made it an easy choice for bosses to use the old hospital setting.
Recent scenes from EastEnders show the pair heading to the Walford Sexual Health and Wellbeing Centre
