Eamonn Holmes breaks his silence as he returns to social media after bombshell Phillip Schofield comments

EAMONN Holmes returned to social media today and shared his first post after branding Phillip Schofield “passive aggressive”.

The 62-year-old, who now works for GB News, put aside his work grievances and instead concentrated on his role as grandpa.

Eamonn made a series of comments about Phillip Schofield last week

Posting a picture of his granddaughter Emelia beside one of his son Declan at her age, he gushed: “Maybe I’m just a doting Grandpapa but I see more than a passing resemblance between my Grand daughter Emelia and my Son Declan, her Daddy, at the same age.

In an interview last week, the TV star reignited his feud with Phillip two years after Ruth, 61, made an official complaint about him to TV bosses.

Eamonn and his wife were replaced with Alison Hammond and Dermott O’Leary after 14 years hosting This Morning on Fridays, and during the holidays, in a brutal diversity drive.

Speaking about their time on This Morning, Eamonn said: “Phillip is renowned for snubbing people.

“He’s very passive-aggressive. It’s up to Ruth to say how she felt, but I was feeling hurt for her. No one would have snubbed me like that.

“I have a good Belfast street fighter in me… I would be direct. I don’t go for presenters who think they have a special privilege or aura or influence.”

He also accused ITV bosses of using “sly” tactics when they gave him the boot from This Morning amid a huge shake-up at ITV.

He told The Daily Mail’s Weekend magazine that they wanted it to appear as if he had decided to leave rather than him being pushed out, and claimed he had “no idea” why he was being replaced.

Since the interview, Eamonn has liked a number of tweets and replied to comments surrounding his exit from ITV.
