EastEnders actress Gurlaine Kaur Garcha looks nothing like character Ash after glam makeover

EASTENDERS star Gurlaine Kaur Garcha has been spotted looking totally different from her character Ash after a glamorous makeover.

The soap actress took to Instagram to show off her new look as she attended the Together For Short Lives charity ball in London with friends.

Gurlaine, 28, has been best known for playing Ash Kaur – the daughter of Suki Panesar – in Albert Square since she joined the BBC show in 2019.

The actress is frequently seen keeping it casual on the soap, often going make-up free and letting her dark brown locks flow down behind her back.

But Gurlaine wowed her fans following a glam makeover as she was seen looking totally different from her casually-dressed character.

She snapped selfies after getting all dressed up for the London events, opting for a dramatic palette of make-up and a curly up-do.

Donning a pink dress and a white blazer, Gurlaine had her eyebrows neatly styled and opted for a dramatic winged eyeliner look – as well as a pink glossy lip.

Her hair had been neatly styled into an up-do, allowing some of her bouncy curls to frame her face, as she accessorised with large hoop earrings and gold chains.

“About last night,” she captioned the first snap from the evening, before following up with others showing her walking the red carpet with friends.

“What an amazing evening filled with so much promise for families who face the awful reality of losing a loved one,” Gurlaine added of the star-studded event.

Last month, Gurlaine opened up about how she was left terrified after she was harassed by an “aggressive and forceful” group of men during her walk home.

She referenced the tragic deaths of Sarah Everard and Sabina Nessa, who were both killed in London this year – sparking a nationwide call for safer streets for women.

Gurlaine shared a photo of a placard that read: “When will women be safe?” from a vigil as she opened up about her recent harrowing experience.

The actress explained that she was recognised from EastEnders by the “relentless” men – who referred to her as “lesbian”, because her onscreen character is bisexual.

Gurlaine shared: “The other night whilst walking a short distance home at around 10:15pm, I was shouted at by a car full of men. It was intimidating, and scary.”

She added that she felt “lucky” to be trained in martial arts and is a “strong, confident” woman, but added that she still feels fearful by the threat.

Gurlaine joined EastEnders in 2019 and has been at the centre of huge storylines – including her family disproving of her relationship with Iqra due to their different religions.
