EastEnders Adam Woodyatt’s secret rule breaking plan exposed by ex I’m A Celeb star Shane Richie – who warned him off

SHANE Richie has revealed that Adam Woodyatt planned to break I’m A Celebrity rules by collecting nettles from around the castle to make tea.

But the actor – who is best mates with Adam and appeared on the show last year – had to warn him off it because he knows the nettles have been covered in insecticide.

Shane admitted he had tried the same trick last year – and nearly ended up poisoning himself.

Speaking on today’s Lorraine, Shane explained:  “A few weeks ago we were chatting and he said to me ‘whats the shrubbery like?’, I said ‘why what have you got in mind’.

“He said ‘I’m thinking if I gather up as much nettles as I can, I can make a cup of tea’.

“I had to tell him when I went into the castle last year, I did exactly the same. I had this notion in my head because it was the first time in the castle.

“I was wandering around on my own picking up little plants looking for nettles, and I have this armful of nettles and I am about to walk into the castle and I got called to the Telegraph.

“They said ‘can you sit down, what are you doing?’ and I have all these nettles and was like ‘nothing, why?’. They said ‘no, really what are you doing?’ I said ‘I’m hoping to make a cup of tea. They said ‘put them back, they have all been sprayed with insecticide’.”

He added: “So I had to warn Adam, so he knows not to do that.”

On last night’s show soap stars Adam and Simon Gregson made their debut into the castle, who took part in the trial Castle Scare Fair to win food for their new campmates.

After a round where the actors had to manoeuvre sheep’s testicles from one tray to another using only their mouths, presenter Ant McPartlin said: “You can tell they’re from the soaps as they give you drama!”

Having completed the trial, the two new campmates discovered they would be sharing a bed. Simon revealed he farted “like a trooper” before Adam joked “can we have single beds please?”

TV presenter Richard Madeley, 65, was forced to withdraw from the show after breaking the “Covid bubble” during a hospital trip, which was not shown in Thursday’s episode.
