EastEnders’ Chantelle and Gray Atkins reunited as Jessica Plummer shares glam throwback after Bafta nomination

EASTENDERS’ Chantelle and Gray Atkins have finally reunited.

The actress, 28, who played the saleswoman on the BBC soap from 2019 to 2020, took to Instagram to share a snap with her former on-screen husband to celebrate their BAFTA nomination.

During her stint on the BBC soap, Jessica’s alter-ego Chantelle was abused by her husband Gray, but the storyline came to a harrowing end in September 2020.

Gray pushed his wife onto an upturned knife in the dishwasher during an argument at home, killing off Jessica’s character for good.

Their storyline touched the nation and they are now in with the chance of winning Virgin Media’s Must-See Moment BAFTA award.

Jessica took to Instagram to mark the occasion with a snap of her co-star Toby-Alexander Smith in the back of a taxi.

Gray manipulated his wife and hurt her whilst she was alive

Jessica and Toby are up against some tough competition this year.

The scene where Penelope is revealed at Lady Whistledown in Bridgerton, Diversity’s iconic performance on Britain’s Got Talent and the Gogglebox cast reaction to Boris Johnson’s press conference are all in with a chance too.

Nigella’s show Cook, Eat, Repeat has also been shortlisted after she pronounced the word microwave as “mee-cro-wah-vay,” as well as Luke Skywalker’s return in The Mandalorian.

Jessica first joined the Square back in 2019 alongside her husband and two children.



Chantelle and Gray’s harrowing storyline touched viewers

As time went on viewers realised the abusive lawyer’s true colours after putting his wife in danger a number of times.

He even managed to break her arm and mainuplated her into apologising.

Things got too much for Chantelle and she tried to flee Walford with her new lover Kheerat Panesar and her children.

When Gray realised what she was doing they got into a huge argument and he ended up killing her.



Jessica took part in I’m A Celebrity last year

Since Jessica’s departure from the hit show, she’s been busy with other projects.

The star took part in the twentieth series of I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here shortly after, and was eliminated on day 17.

She’s also been confirmed as the main role of BBC’s new drama series The Girl Before.

Jessica will also star in upcoming TV show Auditions.

The actress first shot to fame in 2013 as a member of British pop group Neon Jungle.
