EastEnders fans call out baffling blunder with Jean Slater’s cannabis farm during Martin Fowler scene

EASTENDERS fans have called out a MAJOR blunder with Jean Slater’s cannabis farm.

Jean – played by Gillian Wright on the BBC One soap – returned to Albert Square on Monday’s episode after visiting her son Sean.

Jean realised that the marijuana in the garage didn’t die

But Jean was in for a shock when she discovered how tall the cannabis plants had grown.

Viewers will recall that Walford favourite Mo had left Jean a garage full of cannabis plants a few months ago.

With Mo away on a cruise with Fat Elvis, Jean chose to deal with the problem on her own and switched off the heat lamps, hoping to kill the plants.

However, last night it became clear that Jean’s plan has failed miserably.

Upon her return from visiting Sean, Jean realised that the marijuana in the garage didn’t die whilst she was away.

In last night’s instalment, Martin Fowler visited Jean to confront her about a possible terminal cancer diagnosis.

But Jean began to act shifty as the pair spoke outside of the garage, paranoid that Martin might become suspicious.

Viewers were quick to point out a huge gaffe insisting that Martin would have smelt the cannabis farm, especially as the crop was so big.

One wrote: “Jean and her weed…wouldn’t anyone smell that through a bit of wooden gate?”

“Either Albert Square constantly smells of weed or Martin has lost his sense of smell #EastEnders,” another shared.

Another hilariously posted “So the garage doesn’t emit a heavy smell of cultivated marijuana after all this time.

“Are all the residents on The Square, nose blind. Jean’s turned into Pablo Escobar with an electric bill to rival that of Buckingham Palace #EastEnders.”

A fourth joked: “Has Martin got a poor sense of smell or something? #Eastenders.”

Fans of the soap will recall that guilty Ruby Allen finally confessed to framing Jean’s daughter Stacey for causing her miscarriage.

Jean refused to show Ruby any sympathy and told her to come clean to Martin before she returns from her trip.

Jean’s in for another shock this week when she realises that Ruby hasn’t fulfilled her promise.

Meanwhile, Jean wonders what to do with the huge tropical drug den and summons Shirley to the garage to assist her.
