Critics Point Out Double Standard Among Walford Shops
EastEnders fans are expressing their disbelief at the high prices at Beale's Eels, while other shops in Walford offer lower prices for similar items.
The new establishment, owned by Ian and Cindy Beale along with Dean Wicks, has faced criticism for its pricing.
Price Comparison Raises Eyebrows
One viewer took to X (formerly Twitter) to share their frustration, posting a screenshot of Beale's Eels' prices alongside prices from Stacey's Baps and the Minute Mart.
They pointed out that Beale's Eels is selling cans of pop for £1.50, while Stacey's Baps sells them for £1 and the Minute Mart sells them for around 70p.
The viewer also noted that Beale's Plaice, another business owned by Ian, sells the cans for £1, leading to speculation that Ian may be pricing himself out against his own establishment.
Low Prices at Stacey's Baps
Not only are Stacey's Baps selling cans of pop for £1, but viewers have previously commented on the low prices of other items on Stacey's menu.
One online forum user suggested that Stacey's low prices are the reason she has turned to an OnlyFans-style website to earn extra money.
Comparing Stacey's prices to other businesses in the Square, it becomes clear that her prices are much more reasonable.
