But viewers are asking for another member of her family to return

The BBC One soap aired the first scenes of a child pregnancy storyline on New Year’s Day.

But when she was told she was pregnant, Lily (portrayed by Lillia Turner) refused to tell her mother who fathered her baby.

Viewers have since been desperate to find out who it could be.

The pre-teen swore her mother Stacey (Lacey Turner) to secrecy.

While she managed to keep the pregnancy under wraps from Lily’s adoptive father Martin, Stacey felt the need to tell another trustworthy person – her mother Jean.

However, others are sensing Lily could benefit from more support than she’s been receiving.

This prompted them to ask for the seemingly crucial return of Lily’s biological father, Ryan Malloy.

Many viewers took to Twitter in the hopes of getting the attention of soap bosses.

“They may as well just bring back Ryan’s character in the midst of this Lily’s pregnancy storyline cause it’s only right”, one fan commented.

Another echoed: “Whitney doesn’t have any family apart from Lily. We don’t see any scenes with her. With this story, isn’t it about time Ryan shows up in Walford for his sister and daughter?”

“Respect Martin but Bring in Ryan please”, a third viewer agreed as another wrote: “Ryan needs to come back!!!”

One viewer added: “With Whitney and Lily both pregnant, a Ryan return has to be on the cards, right? Even if just for a short stint.”

“I can see Ryan coming back not only to see Whitney and Lily, and also to meet Zack. I’m assuming the minute Whitney gets word of what’s happened to Lily, she’ll contact Ryan”, another soap fan concluded.

Ryan Malloy was first introduced to viewers in 2009 and portrayed by Neil McDermott.

Lily and Stacey aren’t the only residents he has a link to as his sister is none other than Whitney Dean.

The latter is going through her own pregnancy storyline following a night with Zack Hudson.

After seven years in the Square and explosive storylines, including a love traingle with Janine Butcher, Ryan left Walford to build a new life in Yorkshire and hasn’t been seen since.

Martin Fowler stepped up to the plate for Lily as a father.

Could Ryan return to the Square in Lily’s time of need?

EastEnders airs from Monday to Thursday on BBC One.
