EASTENDERS fans have ‘worked out’ who Ian Beale’s mystery new lover is after his surprise return.
Fans of the BBC soap watched as Dot Cotton was laid to rest in touching scenes following June Brown’s death earlier this year.

As Walford residents gathered to say one last goodbye to Dot, familiar faces returned for her send-off.
Ian Beale made a shock return as viewers saw him watch Dot’s burial from across the graveyard.
His return was brief as the businessman, who last appeared in the show two years ago, took a phone call.
While the caller’s identity remains a secret, Ian was heard telling them: “Hi love. Yes, I’m coming home.”
And now fans think they have worked out just who was on the other end of the phone.
They’re convinced he was speaking to his ex-wife Jane Beale (Laurie Brett) as they speculate if the pair have reunited.
On an online forum discussing EastEnders, one fan said: “I’m assuming it’s Jane. Will be a big surprise if it’s anyone else.”
Another said: “Surely it’s Jane. They can both return, Jane can build bridges with Bobby and the whole Lucy saga can be dealt with once and for all.”
“The obvious choice is Jane but there are so many potential possibilities to who it could be,” said a third viewer.
Jane departed the soap in 2020 after being forced to by Max Branning.
Insiders on the soap have said Adam Woodyatt’s surprise cameo is teeing up a bigger return to Walford later.
