What’s Frankie’s exit storyline?
EastEnders has teased that Frankie prepares to leave for Australia next week after Mick rejects her.
When Stuart hands out invites to Mick’s party, not realising who Frankie is, she quizzes him about her dad but is gutted when it becomes clear Mick hasn’t actually invited her.
Later, Frankie bumps into Mick on the street and quizzes him about her mother but Mick, who’s preoccupied with searching for Tina, acts distant and ends up snapping at her.
The next day, a hungover Frankie tells Mick she’s leaving but barely gets a response.
When Mick overhears Denise and Phil talking about Raymond, however, he’s spurred into action and asks Ben where Frankie has gone.
When Ben tells Mick that Frankie has already left for Australia, he’s gutted.
But will he find Frankie in time to stop her leaving?
With EastEnders keeping exact plot details under wraps, viewers will have to tune in to find out.
Why is Frankie leaving EastEnders?
Frankie will decide to leave the Square next week following the emotional clash with her dad, which will fuel her desire for a fresh start in Australia.
Viewers know that Frankie has been on an emotional roller coaster during her brief time in the Square after she realised that Mick was only 12 when he fathered her – and that her mum Katy had abused him as a child.
Katy then arrived in Walford to save her own skin, manipulating Mick into thinking the abuse was in his head – and that he hadn’t fathered Frankie.
Katy also managed to turn Frankie against Mick, convincing her that Mick had fabricated the whole story.
But Frankie finally saw through her mum’s lies this week and told Katy she deserved everything she’s got coming to her before washing her hands of her.
Is Rose Ayling-Ellis leaving EastEnders?
Fans will be relieved to hear that there’s no word yet from EastEnders or actress Rose Ayling-Ellis about Frankie’s departure from the Square.
So fans will have to stay tuned for more information.
Rose Ayling-Ellis joined the EastEnders cast back in in February 2020 to portray the soap’s first ever deaf character.
After Callum bumped into Frankie in the Minute Mart, he realised she could help his boyfriend Ben Mitchell come to terms with his hearing loss.
Rose is deaf in real-life, and is fluent in both Sign Spoken English (SSE) and British Sign Language (BSL).
She said prior to joining the soap: “I am so excited to be joining the cast of EastEnders and I am equally proud to be one of the first Deaf actresses to be part of this iconic soap.
“I can’t wait for everyone to meet Frankie!”
