EASTENDERS’ Jake Wood joked that there is “life outside of the square” as he reunited with former co-star Tamzin Outhwaite.
The 48-year-old actor shared a smiling snap with the 50-year-old beauty three months after his final scenes as lothario Max Branning aired.
In the photo, Tamzin – who played Mel in the BBC One soap – is beaming as she poses for the camera in a patterned blouse.
Jake is smiling tight-lipped beside her in a smart shirt and blazer, his growing bushy beard proudly on display.
The pair are posing in front of a bold statement wall, and fake greenery complete with fairylights.
He captioned the snap: “Great bumping into my previous work mucker @glamzin this week.
“So it turns out there is life outside the Square
”
Tamzin commented: “Definitely lots of life outside of and beyond the square!! so good to catch up xx”
Their two characters had previously enjoyed a brief fling in Walford, with Max kissing Mel unaware of her then-plans to take down his brother Jack.
Mel was killed off in November 2019 – dying in the street following a car accident after she was left distraught by the death of her son Hunter.
Meanwhile, Max left Albert Square earlier this year after being left heartbroken when Linda Carter chose her husband Mick instead of him.
However, the door has been left open for him to return at some point in the future – with Max one of the most popular characters from EastEnders.
