EASTENDERS’ Jean Slater looks to be in strife as she’s stopped by security at a jewellery shop.
Fans of EastEnders have watched as Jean (Gillian Wright) spirals out of control and things seemed to have turned very serious.
In scenes for an upcoming episode, Jean is seen smiling and hugging her mate Shirley Carter (Linda Henry) outside of the fancy shop.
But then things take a turn when security come outside the shop to arrest a very shocked looking Jean.
Shirley tries to stop them, but the trio drag the grandma back into the shop.
Also spotted was Jean’s boyfriend Harvey Monroe (Ross Boatman) with whom she’d visited that shop previously.
The pair first sparked romance rumours but grew apart after Jean was unimpressed by Harvey’s attitude during their first date.
Little did she know that he had been spiked with vodka by his Nazi son Aaron (Charlie Wernham).
Now free of his son’s villainous deeds, after turning him into the authorities, Harvey agrees to give his bond with Jean another go.
Later, Jean made a dangerous decision by calling in sick at her community payback in order to go on a date with Harvey.
EastEnders viewers know that her arrest at the shop could represent a risk for Jean as she was once on the wrong side of the law.
When she learned that Ruby Allen had framed Stacey for attacking her, thus wrongfully sending her to prison, Jean became the target of a new scheme.
Jean disposed of marijuana grown by Big Mo Harris by selling it away with the help of her pal Shirley Carter.
To stop her from exposing her secret, Ruby turned Jean in to the police and the latter was subsequently arrested.
Jean was charged and intensely questioned by the police about the drugs but instead of outing Shirley, she decided to get her own revenge on Ruby by claiming she was the dealer.
Jean’s daughter Stacey (Lacey Turner) has been concerned as she’s noticed more signs of erratic behaviour from her mother.
EastEnders viewers are no stranger to Jean’s mental health condition.
Since her first appearance in Albert Square, Jean has been known to struggle with bipolar disorder.
Actress Gillian Wright was praised for her portrayal of the condition as she researched it thoroughly before taking on the role of Jean.
Jean’s mental condition has often strained her relationship with her children, Stacey (Lacey Turner) and Sean (Robert Kazinsky) as she has already attempted to take her own life.
