FROM Walford to wallpapering, EastEnders actor Jaz Deol likes to keep himself busy when he is away from Albert Square.
Fans will know Jaz, 32, as Kheerat Panesar in the BBC show who joined the show in 2019 as a businessman and the eldest brother in the Panesar family, the first Sikh family on the show.
Kheerat is well-loved by viewers, and their love of him is reflected in him recently winning the Best TV Character sections at the 2021 Asian Media Awards in October this year.
While at the award ceremony, he said:
“To hear your name being called in a room full of people you admire and respect is an experience in and of itself.
“It’s surreal, emotional and overwhelming. In particular this one because it comes from MY community.
“To be embraced by such an audience and hearing those who came up to me afterwards share their feelings of connection to Kheerat Singh Panesar almost had me in tears.”
Posting an image of him holding his award on Instagram to his 27.2K followers, fans commented to show their love and support.
One said: “Congratulations, well deserved. You’re an amazing actor, and might I add… very easy on the eye.”
“Awe big congratulations from Dublin Ireland. I love your character in eastenders, truly deserved this award and more! Great acting by the way,” another added.
Launching JHD Homes on Instagram back in February 2021, Jaz works as a property investor when his filming schedule isn’t too gruelling.
Sharing images of some of his recent projects, he is focusing on properties in South Wales at the moment, and his bio reads: “Passion for creating homes and building long term wealth.”
Fans were initally worried that he would potentially be leaving the soap, but it appears that Jaz just likes to pack out his scheduled and explore other passions.
Commenting under one image on his property account, the actor and businessman on and off-screen said: “There’s no question that market right now is incredibly hot. You could argue the many reasons why but the bottom line is that finding good deals is harder than ever.
“How do you know what is a good deal or a bad deal? That’s entirely up to you. Key thing is to know your critieria, your why and your level of comfort with risk.”
On the soap, the heat is on for Kheerat as he has been wrapped up in a murder storyline after solicitor Gray killed his partner Chantelle.
