Craig called the latest film in the Rise of the Footsoldier franchise

Reprising the lead role of Pat Tate, Craig’s claims that it’s the most violent yet appear to be on the money.

Standing outside a Leicester Square steakhouse in Pat’s trademark leather coat, the actor’s face was bloodied and battered.

A large crowd gathered to watch the production in action, and in one set piece numerous henchmen legged it out of the Platinum Lace lap-dancing club as all hell broke loose.

Craig had a blast on set, writing on Twitter: “Was absolutely breathtaking, chaos tonight filming in Leicester Sq but we pulled it off again!!! down to the one only Man at the helm @NickNevern.”

The feeling from director Nick is mutual, with him writing earlier in the week: “A huge thank you to my cast & crew for an incredibly hard but rewarding 3 weeks. I would especially like to thank my leading man

“@craigfairbrass for being, as always, a consummate professional on an extremely tough & ambitious shoot… Tate 1 – Southend 0! London here we come.”

The film is due to wrap tomorrow.

EastEnders fans will know Craig as raven-haired tough nut Dan Sullivan – or Delmar in the movie Cliffhanger.

He recently changed his look for his role in Netflix‘s One Piece as former pirate and restaurateur Chef Zeff.

The big-budget series is a live-action version of the Japanese manga series of the same name.

Fans teased him over the new look with one asking: “Do blondes have more fun Craig?”

Another said: “Like the blonde look” while a third announced: “I’ve no idea what One Piece is but I will definitely be giving it a go now the Brass is in it.”

Craig has tasted major success recently. Last week he won the Outstanding Performance award at the National Film Awards in London.

He beat Benedict Cumberbatch and Jamie Dornan thanks to his role in prison drama A Violent Man.

The actor’s 2020 crime film Villain also had a week-long run as Netflix’s No1 movie.

The actor first appeared in EastEnders as Dan in 1999, leaving in the summer of 2001.
