EastEnders legends reunite offscreen as Ian Beale star Adam Woodyatt meets shocked Alfie Moon actor Shane Richie

EASTENDERS fans were delighted as two titans of the soap hung out offscreen together.

Ian Beale star Adam Woodyatt was seen posing with Shane Richie, who played Alfie Moon before stepping down for a life in the West End.

EastEnders’ Shane Richie and Adam Woodyatt were reunited yesterday

Adam, who is currently on a break from EastEnders himself, posted a picture of him looking slim and happy with Shane looking shocked in the background.

He wrote on Instagram: “Small world! Got photo bombed by @theshanerichie yesterday #makesachangefromJake.”

Adam has lately made a habit of bumping into Jake Wood, who played another EastEnders legend, Max Branning.

The pair posed for pictures together in London twice this month with Adam recently sharing the hashtags “#peoplewilltalk” and “#muststopmeetinglikethis.”

The actor, who has been in EastEnders since he was a boy, has previously warned fans he may never resume his iconic soap role.

The actor has played the role of businessman Ian for a massive 36 years, appearing in the first episode in 1985.

But the 53-year-old, on an “extended break” from the soap, admitted his return was not set in stone.

He told the Metro in July: “I won’t be going back until this time next year at the absolute earliest.

“I’m committed to touring with Looking Good Dead until the end of October. I’m then goAing to America because my daughter is getting married.

“Then hopefully we’re going to pick the tour up and do some of the venues that were originally planned but that we hadn’t managed to get to. That’s likely to be January to April.”
