EastEnders’ Paul Nicholas teases return of evil Gavin Sullivan from beyond the grave in terrifying twist

FORMER EastEnders star Paul Nicholas has revealed that he wants his evil character to return from beyond the grave as the soaps first ever ghost.

The veteran entertainer, who played as the chilling villain Gavin Sullivan in 2015, caused big trouble in Walford during a year-long stint on the BBC One soap before being killed off-screen.

And now the 76-year-old says he wants to haunt Albert Square as his sinister character in a truly terrifying twist.

Speaking recently to BBC Radio London, Paul said: “I was looking through the paper and I found that Gavin had been cremated.

“The wonderful thing is that Sharon threw the ashes in a bin – it’s perfect, I can reappear and go ‘ello princess’.”

While Gavin left BBC’s flagship soap very much alive, it was revealed earlier this year that he was killed off by the writers.

The character’s death was confirmed in March when his ex Kathy received a phone call informing her of his passing.

Kathy later informed Sharon of Gavin’s death, who could be seen later throwing her estranged father’s ashes into a bin.

Confirming he would like to return as the villain, he told The Mirror in 2017: “Oh yeah, I’d go back.”

And on his diverse role, he added: “It was hilarious really. Apparently, I’d been living with Kathy in South Africa, though, of course, everyone believed her to be dead.

“Gavin was a real nasty piece of work – horrid. He was controlling with Kathy, kidnapped her when she wouldn’t play ball, killed his sisters and, oh yes, turned out to be Sharon’s real dad.”
