EASTENDERS’ Shona McGarty has revealed the tragic truth behind Whitney Dean gatecrashing Ben and Callum’s wedding.
The actress, 29 – who has played the market trader in the BBC show since 2008 – has lifted the lid on what her character’s motives where during last night’s epic episode.

Yesterday’s instalment saw Whitney take matters into her own hands after being told there was no evidence found to prove that the Mitchells were behind Kush Kazemi’s death.
When she later found out that Ben and Callum’s wedding was still going ahead she decided that enough was enough.
Whitney stole Gray Atkin’s car and ended up driving into Phil, Ben, Callum and Kat – and now one of them is fighting for their life in hospital.
However, Shona has revealed that she never meant to hurt anyone as she recently told the Metro: “As far as she is concerned, they killed Kush – she’s not happy! Her intention isn’t to kill. It’s to gatecrash the wedding.
“When she sees everyone under the bridge, she thinks ‘I have nothing to lose, I have lost the love of my life, that’s it’.
“She just wants the Mitchells to hurt the way she is hurting I guess, she doesn’t intend to kill.”
Viewers will know that it was actually Gray who killed Kush.
The evil solicitor – who has already murdered his wife Chantelle and Tina Carter – pushed the market trader under a tube to stop him fleeing Walford with Whitney.
Kush and Whitney needed to leave the Square after Kush dobbed the Mitchells in to the police during his court hearing last month.
Kush, Ben, Phil, Kat and Shirley were involved in a car heist back in November and the market trader said he’d take the blame as long as the Mitchells paid him off.
After falling hard for Whitney, he realised he couldn’t do it anymore and joined forces with the coppers to take try and take the family down once and for all.
But Kush wasn’t the only one who went behind the Mitchell’s back.
Ben’s husband-to-be has also been helping the police lock Phil up for good.
Last night the mechanic got ready to take revenge after discovering that his son-in-law was working as an undercover police officer working to try and put him in prison.
Just as the pair started a massive showdown, Whitney came full speed ahead and drove into them all.
And fans are convinced that Kat is the one who is suffering.
One wrote on Twitter: “It is 1000% Kat who got hit by the car”
A second said: “It was definitely Kat!”
Another added: “SHE HIT KAT!!!!”
