LINDA Carter is deeply suspicious of her stepdad-to-be George Knight – and she has every reason to be.
Tonight, EastEnders finally reveals the truth about the newcomer’s missing wife Rose.
Linda Carter has been suspicious of George Knight since his first arrival
His wife Rose walked out on him nine years ago, leaving him to raise their daughters
He recently proposed to Linda’s mother Elaine – but what is he hiding?
George’s old school charm may have won the heart of Elaine Thorpe but it failed to convince Linda of his good intentions.
The pub landlady played by Kellie Bright has struggled to fully trust George (Colin Salmon) and when he proposed to her mother, her doubts only increased.
But after suspecting George of taking advantage of Elaine, Linda turned her attention to his past when she heard that his wife Rose vanished into thin air nine years ago.
According to George’s daughters Anna and Gina, Rose walked out on their family, leaving him alone to raise them, and the trio learned to live without her.
Linda, however, has been keen to figure out whether George had anything to do with her disappearance.
And all her suspicions appeared to be confirmed in recent scenes of the BBC One soap after she’d asked Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden) to look into his new business partner.
Phil turned to the only person he knew could get him the information he needed – his son-in-law Callum Highway (Tony Clay).
As he believed Callum would find nothing suspicious about the former boxer, Phil’s jaw dropped when he found out that Callum was unable to uncover any information about Rose Knight.
The theory of a police cover-up with George at the core of the mystery emerged on social media and fans of the London-based drama were left at the edge of their seat.
Luckily for them, all of George’s secrets come out in the open during tonight’s trip to Albert Square.
For several weeks, soap viewers have speculated that Rose Knight could be none other than former Walford villainess Cindy Beale.
Actress Michelle Collins‘ big soap return seemed to coincide with the Knight family’s introduction to viewers and fans took this as enough proof for them to believe she may have a link to George, Anna and Gina.
But Cindy Beale was said to have died in prison during childbirth – could it all have been a lie?
Tune in tonight at 7.30pm on BBC One.
