THE jig is almost up for serial killer Gray Atkins and Whitney Dean’s plan finally bears fruit.
Coming up next week, both characters face one another one last time in EastEnders before the lawyer is exposed.
Anyone’s life could be hanging in balance as Gray (played by Toby-Alexander Smith) is set for some comeuppance after Tina Carter’s body is found.
In the aftermath of the horrifying discovery in the Argee Bhajee, the lawyer is approached by DCI Arthurs in upcoming scenes of the BBC One soap.
He is asked to give his DNA despite him assuring he has nothing to do with Tina’s death.

However, Whitney Dean (Shona McGarty) knows his dark side too well and it doesn’t take her long to figure out Gray killed Tina – a theory she shares with Tina’s nephew Mick (Danny Dyer).
While her son doubts Whitney, Shirley (Linda Henry) needs no convincing and she vows to end Gray, storming out of the Vic to find him.
Panicked, Gray calls his wife Chelsea (Zaraah Abrahams) and orders her to come home as he is planning for them to leave Walford for a few weeks.
Gray fails to explain everything to Chelsea and the latter grows more suspicious as she hears Shirley banging on their door in the background.
But while everyone gradually turns their backs to him, Gray finds comfort in his former mother-in-law Karen Taylor (Lorraine Stanley) who is certain of his innocence and hides him in the flat.
Karen can’t stop the truth about her daughter Chantelle’s death coming to light, however, and Whitney is soon desperate for her moment of reckoning with Gray.
She tracks him down for one final showdown, following in Kheerat Panesar’s (Jaz Deol) footsteps.
All of Gray’s secrets slowly unravel and the police flood the Square as numerous residents turn to him for revenge.
The lawyer realises he is running out of options.
Gray has been escaping justice for several years after abusing and eventually murdering his first bride Chantelle.
He then strangled Tina Carter to death when she found out the truth and disposed of her body in the Argee Bhajee, lying to Shirley about seeing her alive and well on a bus.
Since then, Gray hasn’t been able to control his anger or even repent as he’s also been physically and mentally abusing his second wife Chelsea.
Whitney has been adamant on exposing him, certain he is responsible for Chantelle’s death.
She has received the help of Kheerat in her quest who was once romantically involved with the late Chantelle.
But how far is Gray willing to go to avoid trouble?
Will anybody take the matter into their own hands to make him pay?
