EASTENDERS has confirmed a new love interest for villainous Janine Butcher.
Janine will distract herself with Zack Hudson after being rejected by employers next week in the BBC One soap.
In the cafe, Scarlett is surprised that Janine has remembered it’s her first day at school.
Janine tries to make amends but Scarlett makes clear she doesn’t forgive and forget so easily.
Later, Kat encourages Janine to get a job but she’s left despairing when she’s rejected by a number of employers across the Square.
Janine drowns her sorrows at Ruby’s instead, and things quickly heat up between her and Zack.
Could a romance be on the cards?
Viewers know that Janine rescued Tommy Moon from a horrific fire last week, and that she has been using her newfound status as ‘hero’ to try and convince Kat to let her have custody of Scarlett.

However, Kat refused to budge and was ultimately granted custody.
That wasn’t the only problem Janine had to deal with as she realised she might have had a part to play in starting the fire.
