EastEnders spoilers: Jean Slater begs daughter Stacey to save her from the psychiatric hospital

JEAN Slater remains in hospital after her manic episode led to her almost drowning in Southend.

And when her daughter Stacey pays her a visit next week in EastEnders, she begs to be brought back home.

Stacey is struggling to cope as her mother Jean remains in hospital

Jean has gone through a manic episode triggered by her bipolar disorder

In recent episodes of the long-running soap, Stacey (played by Lacey Turner) had no other choice but to get her mother Jean (Gillian Wright) sectioned.

Since then, Jean has stayed in hospital to get treated for her bipolar disorder.

However, things aren’t going well in the facility for the cleaner.

In upcoming scenes of the programme, due to air on our screens next week, Stacey visits Jean but is taken aback when Jean begs her to get her out of the hospital.

While Stacey knows this isn’t the best option for Jean, she’s conflicted when she sees another patient named Ruth winding Jean up.

The owner of Stacey’s Baps stands her ground and refuses to take Jean home.

She tells her the hospital is the best place for her as she leaves Jean devastated.

As mentioned above, Jean put her life in danger by leaving for Southend alone.

She did so as she was getting ready to suddenly tie the knot with her boyfriend Harvey Monroe (Ross Boatman).

For many weeks, the couple ignored Stacey’s warnings.

Stacey had picked up on many signs which led her to believe her mother was going through a manic episode.

She tried to warn Harvey to no avail as the cabbie was also struggling with the guilt he felt over his son Aaron’s prison attack, using his relationship with Jean as a distraction.

During her episode, Jean stole money from Kat Slater (Jessie Wallace), letting Tommy Moon (Sonny Kendall) take the blame.

She also put her grandson Arthur’s life in danger in Walford East, and told him the truth about Kush Kazemi’s murder.

Although this drove a wedge between her and Stacey, the latter remained adamant on getting her the help she needed, noticing she hadn’t been taking her medication.

EastEnders viewers have also been preoccupied for Jean’s well-being as it became clearer the cleaner was unwell.

But will Jean’s cry for help change everything?
