EastEnders spoilers: Kat Slater in terrifying bomb ordeal as she struggles with Phil’s criminal empire

LIFE with one of Walford’s biggest bad guy is taking its toll on Kat Slater while Phil Mitchell remains in prison.

The owner of Kat’s Cabs is embroiled in a bombing horror next week in EastEnders.

Kat deals with the consequences of Phil’s actions outside of prison

Nothing is ever smooth sailing in Albert Square and long-term resident Kat (portrayed by Jessie Wallace) is in the best position to know it.

As her partner Phil (Steve McFadden) stays behind bars, Kat has to deal with the fallout of his decision and actions outside.

But she could come to regret in upcoming scenes of the BBC One soap as things reach a troubling level.

Next week, Kat is shaken when a smoke bomb is thrown into her house and she instantly knows who is behind it.

Despite this and her attempts at staying calm about the situation, an odd package throws Kat into a state of uncontrollable fear.

Later on, however, Kat and Stacey (Lacey Turner) consider it could all be a false alarm – but the mere thought of being in danger without Phil’s protection is enough to rattle Kat.

She confides in Stacey about not wanting to live a life of crime as it was never the reason why she got involved with Phil or decided to marry him.

Overhearing the conversation, Denise Fox (Diane Parish) – another woman who knows what Phil’s criminal routine entails – warns them to sort everything out with Sam so she can leave Jack Branning and their family alone.

Back in the Square, Kat gets reminded of her fears when Ben riles her, telling her she’s not up to being a Mitchell and egging her on.

But when Phil’s sister Sam arrives and announces she’s moving in, Kat has had enough and throws her out, deciding she’s head of the family now.

Meanwhile, and as mentioned above, Phil has been incarcerated after he refused to become a police informant in exchange for his freedom.

Knowing it could put his family in danger, the tough man decided to face the consequences of his actions and accept life in prison.

Since then, many of his loved ones are fighting over his empire.

While Kat also has to deal with her troublesome son Tommy Moon, Phil’s son Ben is coping with his own trauma, resulting from seeing his husband Callum being beaten.

But is Kat really up to the challenge?

EastEnders airs from Monday to Thursday at 7.30pm on BBC One.
