Mick has been inconsolable ever since and is determined to save his marriage.

But it now seems that he has been grasping at straws.

Due to air next week, scenes will show Mick moping around about his estranged wife, while Nancy (Maddy Hill) pesters him with a gamily game night to lift his spirits.

As the family play monopoly, Mick is joined in his devastation by his youngest son Ollie, who is upset to see that Linda isn’t with them.

Later on, Mick decides to take Ollie to visit Linda and while Nancy and Janine (Charlie Brooks) disagree, Rocky (Brian Conley), Mitch (Roger Griffiths) and Harvey (Ross Boatman) encourage him to follow through with his plan.

However, both Mick and Ollie return soon after, devastated: Linda was a no show.

Janine tries to comfort him and persuade him to let Linda go as Rocky, Harvey, Mitch, Patrick (Rudolph Walker) and Mick drown their sorrows.

Although she has closed the door on Mick, Linda is expected to return to the borough ahead of Danny Dyer’s own departure from the BBC One programme.

She also made a spontaneous one-off appearance during the Christmas period alongside Charlie Brooks’ Janine Butcher.

Linda left Albert Square after giving birth to a baby daughter called Annie, a few weeks prior.

Despite Linda and Mick claiming he is Annie’s father, the baby is actually Max Branning’s.

Linda had a brief romance with Max before reuniting with Mick.

Since Annie’s birth, Linda has been terrorised at the idea that Max could return for Annie, as he is still on the run after kidnapping his granddaughter Abi.

But how will Mick cope with her absence?

Is their marriage really over?
