RAINIE Highway devastated as doctors reveal complications with Bernie Taylor being her surrogate next week in EastEnders.
Bernie – who is played by Clair Norris in the BBC One soap – told Rainie and Stuart she wanted to be their surrogate after Karen received a terrifying visit from bailiffs.

But next week, the plot will thicken when Rainie goes with Bernie to her doctor’s appointment.
Rainie is gutted when the doctor breaks the news that there are a few factors that could complicate a potential pregnancy.
In the aftermath of the appointment, Bernie tries to convince Rainie everything will be fine, but Rainie is torn.
What will she decide?
Elsewhere next week, Mitch and Karen continue the search for Bailey.
They’re shocked when they get a call from Reg, who reveals he has found Bailey.
Will their search finally be over?
Later in the week, Karen is broken when she receives a vile note, and ends up snapping when she’s offered a free meal at the cafe.
Karen goes off on a rant about everyone judging her family, before storming out.
Will Bernie be able to go ahead with the surrogacy and solve her family’s money woes?
Talking about her character’s surrogacy decision, Bernie actress Clair recently said:
Talking about why her character considers being Stuart and Rainie’s surrogate, Bernie actress Clair revealed: “She finds out that Rainie and Stuart are still looking for a surrogate and decides that this will be the best way to get a lot of money that could change the Taylor’s lifestyle and living conditions, that’s why she goes to them and wants to be their surrogate.”
Speaking about the family’s money problems, she added: “She is definitely feeling the stress more than ever. Karen tries to keep it away from the kids as much as possible until it becomes very obvious. Bernie wonders ‘how can we be in this situation again?’ although she realises that this is the way that life goes sometimes.
“Bernie is upset and disappointed that they are back in this situation, she knows that they need to work it out and this is when things start clicking in her head and she tries to see where she can help.
“Bernie feels like because she is oldest out of the siblings in the house, she needs to take action.”
