But Sharon Watts framed Tina for Sharon and Phil’s attack on Ian Beale after she went missing.
Gray went along with the lie and sent the Carters a text from Tina’s phone confessing to the attack in order to cover his tracks.
Everything changed, however, when Max dropped the bombshell that Sharon was behind Ian’s attack in the pub – and that Tina is innocent.
Shirley and Mick were baffled by Tina’s text owning up to the attack and were left fearing the worst for her.
And when the police told them that someone had spotted a person matching Tina’s description shoplifting, Shirley vowed to find her.
But next week, Shirley returns home and admits she’s been unsuccessful in her mission to track down Tina.
She announces she’s determined to make Phil pay and vows revenge against the Walford hardman.
Will Shirley realise Gray is behind Tina’s disappearance – and murder?
Fans were sent into a tizzy back in February when murdered Tina seemed to return from the dead as she was spotted shoplifting in London.
Viewers were convinced that Tina is alive and will be heading back to Walford to expose Gray.
But fans later realised Gray had in fact paid a homeless Tina lookalike to shoplift and give a false name.
Speaking about Tina’s exit, actress Luisa Bradshaw-White confirmed that Tina had indeed left the soap in a bodybag.
Luisa revealed she won’t be returning to the soap: “I’m happy with the fact that she can’t come back, so it’s a proper shut door. The final nature of it I needed.
“It’s an exciting storyline to get as an actor, so it was nice to play the drama of it all. But I’m really excited for the next stage.”
