But Stacey makes a shock decision after worrying about her well-being

Stacey Slater (portrayed by Lacey Turner) had no choice but to send her mother Jean (Gillian Wright) in hospital after her manic episode led her to put her life in danger in heartbreaking scenes.

Coming up next week, Stacey faces her daughter Lily’s (Lillia Turner) wrath as the youngster is convinced she’s to blame for Jean being sectioned.

During another visit in hospital, Stacey’s concerns for her mother’s well-being grow and matters only get worse after the owner of Stacey’s Baps witnesses an incident involving the cleaner and another patient.

The worry is too heavy to handle for Stacey as she’s already witnessed a patient tormenting Jean – she therefore decides to bring her home.

However, her decision is a cause for concern for Kat Slater (Jessie Wallace) and Stacey’s wife Eve Unwin (Heather Peace) and both share their worries.

Later on, Stacey is hopeful Harvey Monroe (Ross Boatman) will pay Jean a visit but the cabbie – to whom Jean was engaged to – quickly makes an excuse.

Back at home, Jean is failing to interact with the children and refuses to eat and Stacey finally realises the challenge ahead of her.

The struggle is real and Kat shares her own concerns.

Thankfully, Stacey can rely on the support of a mental health nurse making a house call – but will it be enough as Jean remains resistant to her family’s support?

Harvey’s behaviour may come as a surprise for many BBC One viewers.

The Walford cab driver rekindled his relationship with Jean in earlier scenes of the long-running drama after a failed date.

Jean’s manic episode led to them getting engaged and ignoring Stacey who was quick to point out the numerous warning signs.

The pair brushed her off but, soon enough, Harvey realised Jean was unwell all this time and even questioned her feelings for him.

Aside from that, Harvey also has his son Aaron on his mind as the latter was the victim of a brutal attack in prison.

But will Harvey flip things around and help Stacey?

EastEnders airs from Monday to Thursday on BBC One.
