But as it turns out, Stuart is struggling to come to terms with fatherhood as symptoms of postnatal depression take over his life – which results in a difficult situation for his other half.
Coming up, Rainie prepares for the social worker’s visit to discuss the parental order but panics when Stuart is nowhere to be found.
With the social worker waiting, Stuarts grandmother and brother, Vi and Callum, track him down and encourage him to support Rainie.
The meeting finally gets underway but Stuart is soon overwhelmed by it all and orders it to be over, ushering the social worker out of his home.
Stuart later spirals out of control despite Rainie’s pleas and takes Roland back to Bernie, asserting he doesn’t want him.
Bernie and her own mother Karen Taylor worry for Roland and decide to keep, leaving Rainie devastated.
Reeling from the shock, Rainie pays the Taylors a visit, begging them to let her explain what happened.
