Tina tells Mick about Linda and Max’s affair

Upcoming scenes will see it all kick off when Tina spots Max and Linda sharing a tender moment.

Tina rushes to tell Mick what she’s witnessed, but she’s shocked when he acts so relaxed that she realises he must have already known about the affair.

Katy suggests she and Mick go for a drink

Mick visits Katy on his way to speak to Linda and is diverted when she suggests they go for a drink.

When Mick opens up to Katy about what’s happening with Linda, Katy spots an opportunity to manipulate Mick and tells him his marriage isn’t worth saving.

Later, Tina lashes out when Shirley’s Christmas present for Mick arrives and tells her that Mick doesn’t deserve anything after the way he’s behaved towards both of them.

Katy, who abused Mick when he was in care as a child, is slowly worming her way back into his life after rocking up in the Square following his daughter Frankie’s arrival.

Tina tells Mick he doesn’t deserve Shirley’s gifts

Katy came to Walford to tell Mick that he didn’t father Frankie when he was 12 – and that he’d imagined the abuse.

She then manipulated him further when he visited the care home he grew up in, and tried to convince him his trauma was due to Shirley leaving him.

Viewers have watched Mick slowly unravel as he struggles to come to terms with the abuse – and as Katy continues to get inside his head.

Speaking about the storyline, Executive Producer EastEnders Jon Sen said: “Viewers have always been aware that Mick spent many years in care, which has been the cause of his fractured relationship with Shirley but now the audience will discover just why Mick’s childhood has been so traumatic.

“This storyline will see Mick having to confront the demons of his past, something he has desperately tried to avoid for many years and face up to the realisation that he experienced abuse whilst he was in care.

“Our work with SurvivorsUK and NSPCC has been vital in informing and grounding Mick’s story very much in reality.”

He added: “We hope this storyline will help to challenge the perceptions, the stigma and the shame – particularly experienced by male survivors.”
